The St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-STL) will be hosting a voter registration drive at the Dar-Al-Jalal Islamic Center on Friday the 11th after Jummah Prayers.

George Jean Nathan said, "Bad officials are elected by good citizens who don't vote". The greatest right that an American has is the right to vote. At CAIR-STL we are dedicated to getting American Muslims registered to vote and exercise their right. We believe that by registering Muslims to vote that they will be able to make a more meaningful impact in the United States.
On Friday August 28th, Faizan Syed the Executive Director of the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-STL) held a "Know Your Rights" (KYR) workshop at Al-Manara Academy. The hour long workshop began after Maghrib (sunset) prayers and continued till Isha (night) prayers. During the workshop members of the Islamic Center learned the best ways to send money overseas to help their family members and ensure the money doesn't fall into the wrong hands. The workshop also included methods to avoid becoming the victim of scam calls.
On Sunday August 16th, the St. Louis Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-STL) held a "Know Your Rights" presentation at the West Florissant Islamic Center. Speaking to an audience of over 30 worshippers, Executive Director Faizan Syed spoke about rights and responsibilities when dealing with law enforcement, suffering discrimination in the workplace, and much more. "If you believe you are the victim of discrimination at work then tell human resources" explained Faizan Syed, "It's important that you document everything and find witnesses. All of this will help your case".
