CAIR-Missouri Horrified by Trump’s Incitement to Violence Against U.S. Muslims on Twitter
(SAINT LOUIS, MO, 11/29/2017) -- The Missouri Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MO), a chapter of the largest civil rights and advocacy organization for Muslims in America, today express horror at what it called President Trump’s “incitement to violence against American Muslims” after he retweeted Islamophobic videos from an anti-Muslim British political leader who has been charged in the United Kingdom with “religious aggravated harassment.”

In a statement, CAIR-Missouri Executive Director Faizan Syed said:
“President Trump is sending a clear message to his base and 44 million twitter followers that they should hate Islam and Muslims. This incitement is common on anti-Muslim hate sites but to see this content on the Twitter feed of the President horrifies me to my core. All Americans should express their outrage and horror regardless of their political or religious beliefs.”
CAIR has witnessed an unprecedented spike in hate incidents targeting American Muslims and members of other minority groups since the election of Donald Trump as president.
