“The bloody Syrian civil war has reached its sixth year, with hundreds of thousands of people dead, 12 million people displaced, and still no end in sight. This war represents a significant loss of humanity in the world. We, as a community in St. Louis, and across the world, must not stand idly by as images of this crime against humanity leave us jaded and desensitized.
WHEN: Sunday, August 28th @ 6P.M.
WHERE: Delmar Loop, park behind Cicero's Pizzeria,
Join us in the Delmar Loop as we come together as a community to call for an end to the violence in Syria. Join us to welcome Syrian refugee families who have relocated here, and now call St. Louis home. Join us to declare in one united voice that we still care about the plight of those in and from Syria.
The rally will begin in the parking lot behind Cicero's Pizza. There will be speeches by community leaders and organizers, and a march around the Delmar Loop. Participants are encouraged to fill out letters that will be mailed to our elected officials to implore our government to continue welcoming Syrian Refugees and take a leading role in ending the violence.
There is still much work to be done for all Syrian refugees, and this rally provides the opportunity for us to stand together and declare that we can help.”
