CAIR-Missouri: Annual Food Festival to Celebrate City’s Diverse Muslim Community
(ST. LOUIS, MO, 7/25/2019) -- On Sunday, August 4, the Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Missouri), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will host the third annual “Great Muslim Food Festival” in St. Louis, Mo. This international food festival will showcase the diversity of the city’s Muslim population through food and give guests the opportunity to “break naan” (flatbread) with their Muslim neighbors.

“This food festival gives us an opportunity to showcase our community through the international language of food and celebration,” said Faizan Syed, executive director of CAIR-Missouri. “It will offer guests the opportunity to learn about their Muslim neighbors, enjoy dozens of unique dishes from around the world and build a community that treats everyone with respect.”
The food festival will feature several local Muslim-owned restaurants with meals from around the world. Guests will be able to shop in the bazaar for not only unique edible delights but also for clothing, henna art and much more. There will be children’s games and activities. Additional parking will be available at the Muny Upper Parking lot with free shuttle services.
