“A primary reason Mr. Wesley Bell was elected as the county prosecutor was to hold police accountable,” said CAIR-Missouri Executive Director Faizan Syed. “We are calling on the county prosecutor’s office to hold the Country Hills Police Department accountable for the alleged abuse and to bring this case to the grand jury so we can have justice.”
The groups are also calling on St. Louis County Police to take over another investigation away from Country Club Hills Police Department involving a robbery at a laundromat where Mohammad Wishah was working.

The person who was attacked at the laundromat was Mohammad Wishah. The groups believe that Country Club Hills Police Department should not be the ones investigating this case as its officers were the ones who allegedly abused Wishah just a few months earlier. The assailant who allegedly pistol-whipped Wishah and attempted to shoot him is still at large, despite his accomplice being arrested and charged with attempted murder.
