Islamophobia is one of the greatest threats to civil rights today. After the Presidential election, hate crimes against American Muslims have spiked. The administration continues to pursue an Islamophobic agenda of banning all Muslims, targeting Muslim organizations, and denying religious freedoms to American Muslims. The mainstreaming of hate is not only against Muslims but has led to an unacceptable rise in Anti-Semitism, a rise in hate groups in America, and other troubling trends. CAIR-Missouri is a local civil rights and advocacy organization and a non-profit 501(c)3 that stands on the front line of defending not only American Muslim civil rights but all peoples civil rights. We invite you to attend a vital Educational and Fundraising program to support our work.

Over the last month, CAIR-Missouri has seen a dramatic hike in discrimination cases and hate incidents. We've also witnessed the tremendous outpouring of support from our neighbors, interfaith groups, and the general public. Whether it's hundreds of thousands marching on the streets to oppose the Muslim ban, protest in front of airports, the march in downtown St. Louis, and literally thousands of other activities. We are living in an amazing time. A time when people are coming out to say no to anti-Muslim bias and demand a nation that respects all religions.
Less than 8-months ago, CAIR-Missouri was only 1-full-time staff member working without an office. Now, thanks to your generous support, we have 3-full-time staff members and a beautiful office in West County St. Louis. We've been able to hire our full-time civil rights attorney Robert West and Islamic Education Director Chris Caras. Our goal is to hire another full-time employee and increase our activities to keep up with the growing challenges that we will be facing.
This event will feature:
- Quran Recitation and Opening Dua (prayers)
- The National Anthem
- Video of CAIR-Missouri accomplishments and strategy
- Speeches by Executive Director Faizan Syed, Civil Rights Attorney Robert West, and Islamic Education Director Chris Caras
- Fundraiser by Executive Director Faizan Syed
- A delicious international dinner after Maghrib Salath
