CAIR-Missouri is proud to develop the Muslim Women's Self-Defense Program. This program is headed by former Police Officer and Muslim convert Allison Miller. At CAIR-Missouri we take fighting Islamophobia very seriously. We believe that all women, but especially Muslim women should have the skills they need to defend themselves if they are targeted.
Why you should join the Self-Defense program? Sadly, the victims of anti-Muslim hate in the West are our Muslim sisters. By joining the program you will be given information on upcoming self-defense classes, training on how to use mace and other defense tools, invitation to social programs, and much more.
How can I join? It's simple. Simply fill out the form below and you're in. You'll then be contacted by Allison Miller with upcoming events, projects, social gatherings, educational discussions and more.
How can I help? There are so many ways for you to help.
- Connect with Local Islamic Center: We need your help in securing locations to hold self-defense classes. If you have good relations with your local Islamic Center please let us know.
- Organize a Group: If you can organize a group of 10 to 15 sisters that's all we need to hold a class.
- Volunteer: Interested in volunteering to help with logistics?
- Ideas: We're learning everyday and are always interested in hearing new ideas. Please don't hesitate to share your ideas with us.
How much do Self-Defense Classes typically cost? CAIR-MO is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. We hold our classes at cost to us. Typically the cost of a class is $25 to $35 per person. Of course, we never turn away anyone becasue they cannot pay. We work closely with the community to find the most cost effective option to hold this program.
