St. Louis is one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. We have an opportunity right now to save lives and prevent gun violence.
We need to take a different approach to address violence. Instead of arresting and mass incarceration we need to look at violence as a contagious disease that can be distributed or prevented from spreading.

The "Cure Violence" initative:
"stops the spread of violence by using the methods and strategies associated with disease control – detecting and interrupting conflicts, identifying and treating the highest risk individuals, and changing social norms – resulting reductions in violence of up to 70%."
This program has already been initiated in multiple cities in the U.S. such as Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and more. This program has been scientifically proven to reduce further killings by 40% to 71%.

We need to raise $7,500 so we can take the first steps and bring the Cure Violence team to St. Louis to do a through assessment of how this program can be initiated into our community.
In the Qu'ran Allah (Swt) reminds us that, "whoever takes one life it is as if they have killed all of humanity. And whoever saves one life it is as if they have saved all of humanity" (Qu'ran 5:32).
We have an opportunity to both save lives and help prevent the unjust taking of a life in the first place.
The funds collected will go to CAIR-Missouri which will use the funds to initiate the cure violence program. CAIR-Missouri is working in coalition with other civil rights groups including the Organization for Black Struggle, one of the oldest and most respected advocacy groups for African Americans.
