“In the wake of the executive orders signed by President Trump, CAIR-Missouri continues to be active in the community to empower our American Muslims with the knowledge they need to protect themselves from this administration’s Islamophobic agenda. In addition to a “Know Your Rights” presentation at the Al-Salam Day School and a panel discussion at Daar-Ul-Islam last week, we plan to present more panel discussions at Daar-Al-Jalal and the Northwest Islamic Center in the coming weeks. We also continue to fight on the front lines to protect American Muslims from hate crimes and discrimination. To that end, we are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with the St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council to pursue complaints with the United States federal government on behalf of two Muslim families in South St. Louis who have allegedly faced property damage and violence at the hands of Islamophobic neighbors. We are also pleased to announce that last month, CAIR-Missouri settled its first-ever lawsuit in a case of employment discrimination.
We want you to know that we exist in the community as a resource for anyone who has ever been discriminated against because of their race, religion, or national origin. If you or someone you know has ever been a victim of discrimination, please do not hesitate to contact us to file a complaint and possibly set up an appointment.”
